Percumon is the annual International Afro-Brazilian Percussion Festival that takes place in Sagunto and Puerto de Sagunto organised by Jose Ramón Merino, Fede Rich and Damián Ordóñez, with the support of the Sagunto City Council and the Department of Education, Culture and Sport.

Percumon was born in 2015 and is, nowadays, a reference among the batucada festivals in Europe, becoming a cultural bridge with Brazil. Every year we offer the attendees the chance to nourish themselves with the experiences, art and social denunciation brought to us by the Brazilian mestres.

Percumon is today much more than a 2 or 3 day Festival. It is a permanent project that crosses borders and integrates recreational, educational and social activities.

For us it is very important the educational part and the need to connect percussionists with sources of information. In this sense we created, together with the group Siete Octavos (Argentina), a website that you can visit from the COURSES tab, where you will find initiation and specialisation courses in percussion with different masters and experts.

FIn 2020, due to the pandemic, Percumon opted for an online version that broadcasted live for 4 days original content recorded directly in Salvador de Bahia. You can access some of the material on MULTIMEDIA.

Every year we generate work both in Brazil and in Spain, and festival-goers have a positive impact on the local economy of Sagunto and Puerto de Sagunto. Our Association is attached to the ethical code of Valencian Tourism, and carries out multiple social projects that we show you below and in MULTIMEDIA.

The strength of our drum lies in the community.

Thank you for your trust.
